In May of 2000, a leadership conference for the promotion of leadership, service, and education geared towards eighth grade middle school students was started by OMNI Youth Services in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. OMNI, going along with their mission statement, gave a Junior, Marina Ricci from Buffalo Grove High School, the opportunity to do something she didn’t think was possible and with the help of very supportive people and amazing volunteers something that was thought impossible became a reality. A lot of hard work and two conferences later, the alumni of the event are being given the opportunity to plan this extraordinary event which gives youth like themselves the opportunity to make a big difference in their community.
